Thousands of residents were forced to flee their homes as two wildfires raged in Western Canada, Sunday.
The fires broke out Saturday in West Kelowna, British Columbia - and quickly spread.
An estimated 17 thousand people have been ordered to evacuate and hundreds more are on alert to leave.
[Unnamed resident]:
"A guy pulled into our yard honking, saying you have to get out, you have to get out. You have to be evacuated right now."
No injures or deaths have been reported, but the fires have destroyed at least nine residential buildings.
Officials said the largest fire has burned more than 700 acres of land.
Ground crews faced windy and dry conditions -- as helicopters dropped water and fire retardant and more emergency personnel headed to the scene.
The cause of the fires remained under investigation.
