@MinmatarThrasher I'm a liberal. Am I marxist? Because I would like to see the top 1% wealthy in this country, who own 34% of the GDP, pay 39% taxes instead of 36%? I'm a marxist because I beleive Americans have the right to sound and affordable healthcare coverage, even if that resorts to the government subsidizing private coverage. And finally, what does marriage equality and gun control have to do with Marxism?

@AWesome61696 As an actual (western) marxist....no, you're not. But, even this marxist would like to see them actually paying the 36%....for a start. Government health care seems to make sense in every capitalist economy except yours, it's a long term investment. Marxism advocates an internationalist monopoly of violence, and an appraisal of individual capacities irrespective of gender or sexual preference. We like gun control and marriage equality too, for what it's worth.

@masturminds9 liberals are conservatives now....we want to conserve the institutions of the new deal and civil rights movement. Only liberals and libertarians can say they are faithful to the intent of the founding fathers. That's where the debate should be, between Ron Paul and Ted Kennedy, not Obama and Romney (Gingrich, Santorum)'s fascist charade.

Liberal is a bad word because of the results of modern liberalism. Modern liberals didn't end slavery. This guys history is absurd and painful. The "nonexistent" Republicans put up the Civil Rights Acts of 57, 60, and voted in greater number than Democrats did for the Civil Rights Act of 1964. The democrat (at the time) Strom Thurmond is credited with the longest filibuster in US history. He filibustered the 1957 Civil Rights Act, and again the 1960 Civil Rights Act.
