Gears 1 is WAAAAY better for MP. The gameplay is much more faster and enjoyable.
But the storyline and additional features they added in Gears 2 are good.

@forbidenorc yep. thats why i loved gears 1. it was in your face if i'm better than you i win. period. it was a true skill game that challenged people to get better through skill and strat. if i wanted to be a little camping bitch and hide with nades around corners i'd plant claymores in cod.
