We closely follow the people behind the protest movement. For three months, protesters braved one of the coldest winters in Serbia to do battle with police truncheons and tear gas. Students, Miroslav and Maria, are learning to beat government sponsored repression with banners and marches. Maria explains that after the war and consequent economic crisis, Milosevic's annulment of local elections was "the last straw". Backed by their professors who suspended classes in protest, the students turned their faculty into an HQ and communicate with their supporters through newsletters and the Internet. But they remain cynical about the Opposition's commitment to democracy and blame politicians for the war in Yugoslavia. Consequently, they kept their rallies separate and emphasize that their supporters hold diverse political opinions. They are united by a need for change. Every night Miroslav meets up with his mother to march through the streets blowing whistles. But living outside Belgrade, Miroslav's aunt and uncle view the protesters as interfering troublemakers. Includes some violent incidents as police clash with cameramen and stragglers.

  • @97bruin And by the way, people with those allien beliefs defended Europe for 500 years against islam, you ignorant ungrateful piece of shit.

  • @97bruin Dumb idiot, dont you know your country avoided default by one day ? Just shut the hell up,you are becoming third world country in a matter of years,God knows how many mexicans enter your country daily illegaly, you are going to colapse very soon and Im gona laugh when that happens... Go feed someone else with your prejudice (CNN and BBC sponsored shit),world is sick of it,but luckily for them, there are still idiots nodding heads to what they say, like yourself. Fuck off.

  • @14Srb88

the west hates you too... you serbs and your byzantine orthodox beliefs are as alien to europe as the muslims are... there is a reason that the serb nation has never been able to catch up with the rest of the world.... the rest of us are living in 2011....you are still living in 1389..... you may not like the west...but you better learn to live with the west because it won't be relinquishing power any time soon.

  • Quite a one sided view of the history, history is never objective in the end

  • This was NO Revolution, just a coup: trading off one mobster (Milosevic) for another (Kostunica). Nothing has changed in Serbia. And a youth organization like Otpor who will one minute be playing rock music, the next marching to Chetnik tunes is hardly a genuine resistance group. But their cuteness only came from being U.S/NATO stooges.

  • @jbibriesca Cant say for sure,I know a guy from there,he says they are against west, but the insignia rioters there used is 100% the same otpor used, and we all know who was behind them... We will have to wait and see..

  • @14Srb88 what is your intake after Egypt's revolt? I heard that members from OPTAR helped to train some of the young leaders in Egypt and Tunisia.

  • @14Srb88 wordd, agreeed

  • Toliko smo bili izmanipulisani da je kriminalac Milosevic morao LICNO da salje razbijace u koznim jaknama i vunenim kapicama , koji su tukli nevine ljude bez ikakvog razloga i to ako vidis na trotoaru .
