Howard Dean was on Hardball tonight and was asked how he felt about the Star Spangled banner being sung in Spanish. Dean of course made it into a racist Republican issue, but then said that Canadians sing their anthem in French AND English. Ugh, it's their official languages, STUPID!

  • @PerfectParticiple Don't worry I changed my mind on it. our nation has more prudent issues right now! American drones are doing surveillance on our boarders which is a loss of sovereignty canadians need to take action,

  • @apple2018 Have you actually read the lyrics to the Maple Leaf forever??? It's extremely antiquated pro-Brittania poppycock.

  • to have the national athem in 2 languages you must have 2 languages approved by law orsince an athem is somewhat a symbolic entity of the creed of a country so by making a legal obligation an duty by law to have a 2nd version in a different language.

  • Clarifacation: the french communities in canada were upreseted for publicy using their native language until parliemant hill was feed up with protests (from Quebec provience mostly) and passed the law that french and english are the official languages of the Canada. there are also plenty of french canadian communities across Canada you just have to look for them. in my town 90% of the populace are french and 10% english; but their is a sub-category that 10% only speak 1 language FRA or ENG.

  • @StephenandVH "removing God doesn't make everyone happy. "

    Why not?

Are you unhappy singing "Happy Birthday to You" because God's not mentioned in it? Are you unhappy singing "Auld Lang Syne" because God's not mentioned in it? Are you unhappy singing "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" because God's not mentioned in it? Then why would you be unhappy singing a song ABOUT YOUR COUNTRY simply because your god, or cupcakes, or #2 pencils, aren't mentioned in it? IT'S NOT ABOUT THEM.

  • @StephenandVH "Atheism is like any other religion in the way it is a belief system."

Atheism is not a "belief system". It's a position on a single question; that being, is one persuaded of the existence of a god or gods, with the answer being "no"... and that's it. That's all atheism is. It's no more a "belief system" than not being convinced Bigfoot, fairies, leprechauns, or UFOs really exist are "belief systems".

  • yeah... Canadians have a tough time with our boarders...

  • hahah 3$ a gallon....its liek 5.50$ a gallon in canada...stop crying pussies

  • of course there's no quick fix, duh, your asking to government to price fix you reterded cunt.

  • First, everyone is born an atheist or agnostic and is not a religion and is certainly not organised. Children get brainwashed with religion when they are too young to defend themselves. BTW most spanish speakers are Christians who get dumped on by right wing Christians in the USA. Probably because they are catholic, speak spanish, work, pay taxes etc. Going for a taco and corona.
