Im from the UK, the paras are UK first of all. To counter your point, they were a vital part of the Falkland War, without them then perhaps we would either have lost, or the special air service which were there at the time would have seen more casualties. My reason for introducing the SAS to this comment is because they were planned to go on a suicide mission to fly to Rio Grande in two c130s, it would have been suicide, thanks to the paras persuading the Generals to stop their mates.
