We pit the Aprilia RSV4 Factory APRC against the Nissan GT-R on track in a battle of the computers.

The 180bhp Aprilia RSV4 Factory APRC (Aprilia Performance Ride Control) has the most sophisticated electronic rider aid system of any current motorcycle, with eight-stage traction control, wheelie control and launch control.

The Nissan GTR is the four-wheeled equivalent with a 3.8 twin-turbo V6 producing 523bhp and some seriously advanced electronic driver aids, including launch control and electronic stability control.

MCN took these marvels of electronic and mechanical engineering to Blyton Park Raceway with a datalogger to find out how they feel when you push them around a track, how quickly they accelerate, brake and more importantly which is the fastest around a lap of the circuit?

  • @robcaseyire Thats the thing, the RSV4 has 180 HP, weighing just only 179 KG compared to the Nissan GTR's 530 HP and weighing 1,739 KG, thats a massive amount of difference in weight. Also theres basically nothing to a bike thats why the cheap prices. The reasons why bikes are cheaper than cars to run is simple reasons, they take up less space, quicker through traffic, more economical, cheaper materials to replace, less damage (If crashed), less accidents on roads, cheaper for gas, maintain etc.

  • @robcaseyire Manufacturer claims ?? Its been tested by thousands of journalists from MotorTrend, Auntoexpress, Insideline to T.V shows such as Top Gear. There are plenty of videos on YouTube of the GTR launching in under 3 seconds to 60 MPH. How much proof do you need to know that the GTR launches that fast. The Portsche Turbo S launches 2.8 seconds aswell as the Bugatti Veyron launches 2.5 seconds to 60 MPH are they claims too ??

    FAIL

  • I prefer CLEARLY the french motorcycles videos like motoetmotards, they are just crazy! Enjoy!

  • wait, he called it the what GT-R?

  • @MasonTrance Nissan has been known to provide auto rags with hotted up cars, I guess they forgot about this motorbike rag................the test area is also not ideal, its not on a drag strip and not have the grippiest surface or countless prep hours. MCN times were more indicative of road road figures but the speed difference between bike and car was what matters, not the absolute time..............on the road with top racers, the motorbike will always out accelerate the car 0-60 and 0-100.

  • @OppForce and the ducati desmodesidi it has 344 kmh top speed and with turno 435 hmh we have maked a ducati desmo turbo in italy and waiting the video no the youtube

  • objectivism or lack their of

  • @theapeman1989 yes, excuse me while I withdraw $2,250,880 (google it) to buy a Veyron. VS $15k tops for pretty much any Japanese literbike. I love me some internet arguments :).

  • @theapeman1989 y2k turbine superbike bugatti will lose

  • Bullshit its 4.5 for the Datsun you heard the man.

  • Biggest issue with this is: seemingly pro bike rider vs someone who's "a good driver".

Give the car to a professional race driver and the bike to a pro bike rider who both complete at international level and I'd be willing to put money on those lap figures getting one hell of a lot tighter

  • @RaceWithTime The cars lost when Road and Track Speed did one(Tuner Car vs Tuner Bike), the cars lost when Evo did one, the cars lost when Motor Trend (458 vs Ducati) did one, the car lost when 5th Gear did several, The cars lost when Hot Rod did one in 1991(FZR vs ZR1), the cars lost when Eurotuner did one (M3 vs s1000rr). These were all fair races under controlled conditions with at least some form of telemetry done by honest car magazines or shows.
