Detroit's "Savage Grace", not to be confused with L.A.'s SG. One of 3 bands with the same name. Look who introduces this video. The CD was Produced by Michael Wagener, check out his discography at www.michaelwagener.com . The video was shot at Harpo's and simulcast on local cable and rock station WLLZ. Michael Wagener produced Dokken, Great White, White Lion, Metallica, Ozzy, Alice Cooper, Accept, Skid Row amongst others. This version of Savage Grace formed in 1981 and was recording under that name then. There was another Savage Grace from Detroit in the 70's that had some success. This version of Savage Grace was probably the only group that Michael Wagener produced through the 80's that didn't get signed.

  • I KNOW THE 1 OF THE FORMER DRUMERS!

  • Which one?

  • It was both, I remember it well. One time we played there was a simulcast on WLLZ. Place was packed. I still have the recording from that night. Guess I'm old, too, but shhh, don't tell me, I got a young wife and 2 young children that are keeping me young!! Those were the days, Detroit was rockin', economy was rockin', I was rockin', my hair was definitely rockin', heh heh, and Aqua Net Hurricane Hold stock was going through the roof. Harpo's, Ritz, Main Act, Studio Lounge, Token and more ROCKED

  • savage grace was a speed metal band...Whats that glam band ??

  • Correction, the original Savage Grace was a rock band from Detroit in the 70's. They are the true owners of the name. We were called "Tight" and changed the name to SG, much to my disliking. The Speed Metal band from Cali weren't entitled to the name no more than we were, but for whatever reason, there was no copyright on the name when we used it. Still didn't make it right and "Tight" was a good name for us. Should have kept it, was my vote. I lost.

  • @The82yamaha I saw them at Coral Gables and then at the Silver Dollar once CG stopped playing live rock. Great band!

  • @NightwalkerAOR - no we did not. Our album was produced by infamous Michael Wagener (Dokken, Great White, Accept, Ozzy, Alice Cooper, Metallica, Skid Row, etc) but unfortunately we never got signed to a deal......close but no cigar. Badly managed and it took it's toll, this band went as far as it could, top of the bottom and bottom of the top. Some say it was Scientology that killed it and I'm inclined to agree.

  • I remember seeing this band as tight then as savage grace at coral gables in east lansing, they sure knew how to rock! This was in the early 80's. The good ole day's.

    Wonder what happened to them?

  • The drummer in this video is Randy Regal he used to live down the street from me in the mid 80's. THESE Guy's and Lady ROCKED!!!!!!

  • Where can I buy the album? anyone know?

  • I liked the name "Tight".

  • good song

BUT The Savage Grace from LA are insanely amazing.

  • Holy CRAP! I haven't seen this in 25 years!

  • "we're Savage Grace from Loisville, KY, and we'll rip your face off! That's what I remember from the Coral Gables, E. Lansing, MI 1980.
