MSNBC Cenk Attack: GOP Protects Rich

Cenk Uygur (host of The Young Turks) joins Dylan Ratigan on MSNBC for his Daily Rant segment to explain how Republicans protect the rich above all else. They fight for massive tax cuts for the top 2% costing 678 billion dollars but they insist that unemployment benefits (which cost a fraction of that amount) and other programs that help the poor and middle class must be paid for. These so called fiscal conservatives are frauds, especially when they also argue that the two insanely expensive wars do not have to be paid for. There are also some corporate funded Democrats (who claim they are fiscal conservatives/deficit hawks) who fall into this category.

@hakanefe43 Not even the 'poor'...just the average, middle sections. Republicans are complete and total scumbags. Democrats are not innocent, but they at least try to see the big picture. This country is rich enough that no one should suffer or not be able to live a decent life. There will always be mega rich, but there doesn't have to be 80% struggling daily. That's the point. And it only takes a small amount from everyone to accomplish this. But Republicans don't give a fuck about anyone.

@DerektheDuctTape Think of all the Fortune 1000 companies in America - I think there are 650 or so; now imagine that the top 5 or 6 officers are very wealthy - so let's call that 3500. That's 3500 multi-millionaires (some billionaires) that you've never heard of that are 95% Republicans. Think of every hedge fund manager, every floor trader: same thing. The only reason you've heard of Soros or Kennedy or whomever is because that who the right-wing pundits hand to you to skew your perception.

QUESTION: If the Dems keep crying that the GOP is all for the Rich, then why are the Richest Americans, Democrates and Not Republicans??? Hollywood, Oprah, Soros, Gates, Rockefellers, Kennedys, and the Union Bosses. The Republicans are primarily middle class Americans NOT the Rich!!!

You can label people who want fairness 'liberals' but people generally don't hate the rich, they just hate the fact that the rich get special tax breaks for their corporate jets, and CEOs hand themselves out huge bonuses in spite of the hard work that's actually done at the bottom, and polluting companies get stripped of regulations so they can pollute the environment and contaminate water and air. Could it be the actions of the rich?

@Hellcasters - Why do liberals hate the rich? It's simple, actually. Jealousy. They want to sit around on their couches (fresh bag of weed in hand), collect their welfare checks, and STILL be millionaires. When that doesn't happen, things suddenly "aren't fair". They won't lift a finger to change their standard of living, so they want to drag everyone ELSE down to their level
