This flux welder is ideal for outdoor work since it doesn't use an external shielding gas - the flux built into the wire shields the weld. Set-up is easy for gasless flux-cored welding on thicker steel. 120 volt flux welder allows you to weld material from 18 gauge to 1/2" thick. Includes 2 lb. spool of flux-cored wire, spare contact tip, handheld face shield, chipping hammer with wire brush, multi-purpose wrench.

  • I have one and the biggest problem is the wire that comes with it I tried it and it will not hold any thing I bought some hobart wire and it worked 100 percent better.

I would advise anyone who buys this welder to buy some better wire while you are there to buy the welder

I do not own this welder but, you should be able to weld just about any thickness metal with it. First off you need to grind the edges of the mating surfaces to atleast a 45 degree angle. That will allow for a good penetration. Then lay in your root pass. Once the root pass has been laid you can use multi passes to finish off the weld making sure you burn into each mating surface and make sure you clean off all flux slag between each pass.

  • Will this welder put down a solid weld on 3/16? The description says 1/2" but I find that really hard to believe. Trying to repair a trailer made of 3/16 square tubing....

  • This guy thinks he`s in line for William Shatners job.

  • I'm thinking of geting 1 ...

  • agreed with shity wire issue, anything is better than what it comes with. for 90 bucks you cant beat it. Just dont overload it like I did, used it to put 1 foot extension on back of 4 wheeler trailer the material was 1/4 inch, if you bevel the joints it will hold.

  • The right tool? He is the TOOL!
