Qiman13 is right.....get rid of the magnets...you have magnet on magnet BEMF fighting your input. Get rid of the magnets and use a steel rod. No BEMF...collapsing coils are BEMF w/o forward resistance from input. magnet on magnet are fighting input. Ditch the magnets
Exacly, the supply still is drained. What needs to be tested here is the actual amount of work performed for joules used. I have put this on the shelf for now.

Thanks, Yes I was going to try a steel rod as well. Hopefully I can get back to this soon.

It doesn't matter if the voltage is higher coming back. Without the current there is no context of the power being returned or sent.
