1550?! So lets say they made 400 pounds profit. (around 650$) If the mechanic guy calculates his time at a reasonable 30$/h he *spent* around 20h that's 600$ in time so basically if he didn't pay any taxes on the car at purchase he is making 50$ for the effort of finding the car, negotiating a price, finding parts and transportation costs.
