The Automax is poor even for a toy! The sad thing is Kellyco puts a value on this piece of $#&% at $149.00! Are they serious? Hmm... No wonder I do business with REPUTABLE dealers! The Garrett Pro pointer is a high quality piece of professional equipment & I never go into the field without mine!

I got a free Automax w/atpro, I "accidentally" left it out in Tropical Storm Irene...oops :) ordered my pro pointer yesterday.

Could you use the pointer as a metal detector on it's own? Or is there a problem with the depth?
And do the Pointers work on all metals (gold, iron, silver etc)?

Automax is made especially for Kellyco...They probably pay $5-$10 each...No wonder they give them away..They are junk...The V2 I have has twice the depth as the V4 and it's still not impressive.

Surprised? The K#$@%$ AutoMax is way to big, Cheap Construction used in their bundling schemes where they INFLATE the retail to $150.00 and Discount it heavily to induce you to buy the detector from them rather than locally. Stay away go PRO POINTER all the way....

I absolutely hate the Automax. I got suckered into the "special promo" a particular online company had going when I bought my detector. Now that I plan on getting a new detector, I might see if they'll make a deal on a Pro Pointer. Thanks for the side by side!
