On May 25, 2009, North Korea announced that it had successfully conducted its second nuclear test, having expelled all international nuclear inspectors as a response to a tightening of sanctions by the UN Security Council which had punished NKs long-range ballistic missile test conducted in April. NK is now determined to revive its atomic weapons and other advanced missile development programs despite widespread international opposition, especially from the U.S, South Korea, and Japan. The UN Security council thus unanimously passed a resolution to tighten NK, including inspections of cargo vessels and airplanes suspected of carrying weapons and nuclear technology. NK has sold missiles to Iran and other Middle East neighbors, and a nuclear reactor to Syria. According to the Korean Central News Agency, the North's state-run news service, "an attempted blockade of any kind by the U.S. and its followers will be regarded as an act of war and met with a decisive military response... No mater how hard the U.S.-led hostile forces may try all sorts of isolation and blockade, the DPRK, a proud nuclear power, will not flinch from them."

  • So what follows after more and more people would emigrate from the North Korean part? Ether the regime implodes as they would as well loose too much tax revenue, they (try to) keep the separation line or they even replace the South Korean system with their own.

  • 3:35-3:53 What a dreamer without much history knowledge! ...or is he even an agent?

A confederation or a "reunited" nation would mean free travel possibility. And what does follow? It's not very unlikely that the same thing happens what after the end of WW2 in Germany happened: the dictator regime can't provide the necessary environment that people become happy and wealthy like in the relatively free West Germany.

  • @220CMpunk in charge of what?

  • @orsoru uhh? gina was never divided neighter was cuba

  • @ArtificialRed1083 well they've got nuclear power and china on their back...

  • Here is the solution. Take North Korea and put it in a Timelock. As a result it can progress in its own little screwed up history away from the sane world and the rest of the world can finally move on to deal with more important issues such as AIDS, world hunger and global warming.

    PROBLEM DPRK?????

  • North Korea could follow the path of reforms, such as China, Vietnam, Kuba.Esli not it will be very poorly throughout the region.

  • Bush is an idiot

  • i also hated Bush, but i actually agreed with him on the North Korean situation. Kim Jong Il is a spoiled child and by backing down from their threats and giving into blackmail we're just asking for more blackmail. Granted Bush was being a little harsh, but the North Koreans have to know their not in charge, we are.
