Calpernia and Andrea say hello from the Frameline31 San Francisco Int'l GLBT Film Festival. See the Roxy Theatre where the short film "Casting Pearls" debuts, and then hear the Q&A session afterward, alongside the filmmakers of the documentary "The Girl Inside", about a young transwoman who has the support of her colorful Grandmother.

  • I truly want to see this movie. However, Frameline's pricing is insane and I have around $14 in my bank account. Of course, now I want to see "The Girl Inside," as well.

  • The Frameline price is what it would cost to buy the movie and show it to a group for educational or profit purposes, which is why it's so high. It's meant for colleges and theaters, who purchase Frameline films as class materials or for exhibitions. I can't say for sure, but I assume that at some point, it will be available for a price that's more like what we're used to paying for home-use movies, prehaps as part of a Short Films compilation.

  • wow Andria and Callie look so pretty!

  • It went well. The Roxie is an intimate theater, and there was a nice crowd there to see both our short and the following feature, "The Girl Inside". Most of the crowd left as soon as the credit started rolling, which is why during the Q&A it looks emptier than it was.

Dr. Ousterhout and Mira were there, sitting right beside us!

  • Very interesting, How did the premier go?

  • That was great, the sound was a bit difficult to hear in some places though.

  • Okay. I feel dumb.

Hopefully I will be able to see it, however. Limited funds means no travel to film festivals, especially when I do not drive.

  • Fascinating you all got some good question, I hope everything went will with the premier, great video!
