A cheer from the cleaning and transportation industry. I work in both fields and whole heartily agree on this one. I know some servers can be pricks but most of us really dont mind at all serving others and the work we do. In more cases then not it's customers in modern countries really do need an attitude adjustment.

I"m funny about my iced tea refills..I always get plain iced tea and add 2 sweet and lows..before I'm half way done with the first tea it usually gets refilled and then the sweetness is off kilter..i don't want to add another sweetner to half of the glass so it ends up being shitty tea so I always move my glass of tea to the far side of the table so my waiter/ress can't just refill at their own will..I usually tell them I have a weird tea thing and they understand. :)

@jjrants Thanks, but its not knowledge, but talking with customers that actually enjoy food got 4 $50 tips on $100 or less checks this week. Looking 4 another part-time bartender.........

@lindsayaz I know hundreds of people (literally) who feel the same way. The fact is, too many servers think they "deserve" that 20% for not doing jack shit & working in a shithole. A few wine classes, maybe an apprenticship on a vineyard for a summer, and not settling for halfed assed places but a truly FINE place, can result in working in an establishment where going home with 2-300 a night is not unfeasable. Everyone chooses their place of employment. Anyways..Kudos to you for finding better.
