I think the discussion here is that the Ford is far more refined and better thought out car than the VXR. The VXR has no finesse and the Ford in this case is faster because of its more refined handling and power delivery.  I guess you pay your money and take your choice, however, having had experience first hand of both, I prefer the Ford every time, the engine and handling are simply better. VBH is a racing instructor Needell is simply a TV presenter these days.

You see more Focus ST on the side of the road than actually on the Road, Use all seem to agree with Jeremy Clarkson when he says the VXR has bad understeer well you and him are complete idiots!! There is hardly any understeer! The VXR would beat the ST hands down! You can't compare the VXR to the RS either cause the RS was brought out in 2009 and the VXR was brought out in 2005/2006!

VXR has been out since 2005 and they still haven't managed to fix it 5 years later! Its a common fact that the VXR has horrendous handling and understeer. To claim otherwise is absurd.

ooops iv just bought a VXR. but i don,t intend to powerslide it round council estates and race fookin subarus. I bought it coz its buy far the best looking hot hatch out them all in the price range. its also the quickest. half these cranks on here drive 1.1 corsa,s with bore exhausts and a fake dump valve. critisizing every fuckin car that comes out .

The Focus is just fantastic. The way it drives, handles it just amazing. Jeremy Clarkson favours the ford over the astra and he even owned a normal 1.6 sausage and chips focus. I would have the ford any day

Both cars are shite! And I've had both of them.

Best hot hatches in the current scene is Audi rs3 and focus RS mk2. FACT.............and no I don't own either of them.

The problem is that this all a load of rubbish. The Focus is more refined than the VXR, the VXR is quicker in a straight line, the Golf GTi is the best all rounder and even more refined than the focus, the Megane R is the quickest around a track and the Focus RS is the most ridiculous and exciting to drive in the real world. Its quite simple, which ever one of the above you are looking for in your hot hatch will determine which one is the best FOR YOU!
