Hi my name is Steve Sandy. For more than 20 years, I have been researching "Dummy". His sign name is "Dummy" because of deaf/ears and can't speak/mouth.
He was born and dies in Ohio.
He used to play different leagues; such as Milwaukee, Buffalo, Washington, Cinn, L.A., Chicago. Wow many.
I am here to tell you that we are going to put him in National Baseball Hall of Fame because he introduced baseball hand signs, for example: Out, Ball, Safe, Strike, Foul. It was not his invention; it was his introduction.
How can you do? Petition signer needs to reach 20,000 -- 25,000 to convince National Baseball Hall of Fame Committee. They will see how many people who sign on the petition. They will listen and William "Dummy" Hoy induct in National Baseball Hall of Fame. If without petition sign, it will not successful. You must help with us as teamwork.

Oh my goodness, you listened Steve Sandy's comments. I am very impressed with Dummy because he was first deaf professional baseball player with hearing professional baseball player in many many years ago! No one can make him a Star?
Today, we overlooked "Dummy" s talent. He introduced baseball signs: Strike, Foul so forth.
Please help him, when he was alive. He said, "I wish, I can become one of the National Baseball Hall of Fame. He touched my heart. I would like to ask you. What can you do? Look at the website address.
Type your: Name, Email, address then click "sign". That's all! This is so simple. However, it is not end! Please spread out words to everyone about Dummy. Inspired about his fact stories. Not only deaf community, of course we, deaf people are very proud. We need to tell anyone who works with you, hearing friends. They did not know about this. For instance, I told this to my hearing friends, they could not believe it. They supported and signed! Share this news to your family, too. It is very important to spread out to the world. Hearing people will learn the fact stories of "Dummy". We, deaf people will PROUD!
If you want to get more information about William "Dummy" Hoy and Go to facebook. People will express and share their comments together in the facebook. I will give you update of how many people who sign on the petition. It will be so excited.
One person in the facebook asked "Dummy"? In many years ago, there were given a label to deaf person as deaf/mute. But, we recognized his nickname, "Dummy" in the past years ago.
If you have any friends who have pictures of Dummy when he was alive. I would love to have those pictures because of history. Please let me know in the facebook. Please keep it in your mind.

http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/dummy-hoynational-baseball-hall-of-fame * (1862 - 1961) is the professional baseball player who is widely revered for ... being the first deaf baseball player. Part of what makes Dummy so relevant to deaf and hard of hearing baseball fans around the country is the fact that he implemented signs for umpires so that he could follow the play - a distinction that was never attributed to him. Filmmaker David Risotto has recently completed a documentary on the life of Dummy Hoy, and is spearheading the effort to get him inducted in time for 2014.
