Our class went rafting to learn about the Bow river and wow I gotta say its sooo clean. (I hated the part where we had to walk beside a poop pool in that water recycle plany)

Thanks for this series. I would like to try rafting on the Bow. But I don't know what type of inflatable to get. Even I can figure out the $25 pool toys should be avoided but can you give any advice for picking a safe one? I see them range $200 to 700 and up. I don't know if I want to put my life into something that says 'Made in China'. But everything I've seen up to $1000 comes from there. Are these OK if they have several compartments?

I use FISH HUNTER boats... but anything of a heavier rubber or vynal will be fine. It is the thin "see through" materials that will not last on most parts of this river. The outer edge is often tree branched and root thick, which will rip a thin boat easily.
Canadian Tire in the fall often has good $200 boats on for $99...

Be sure to get out there!
It really is a blast... great stuff to see, and a great way to spend an afternoon...
