Govinda Bahadur Tumbahan in his work (Endangered species) wrote " the present district Solukhumbu is the corrupt form of sorakhambu, a Nepali term which means 'sixteen khambus'. It suggests that there are sixteen major groups of the Khambu community, but their identities are still unclear. Khambu is also called Rai, which many think is a title conferred upon them by the Shah kings. It has many sub-communities that speak distinct languages."
Yes my friend, I am a firm believer that some of the south & central native americans at one point immigrated from the group of Austronesians, (Polynesians, filipinos, Native Taiwanese, etc) I understand that the Polysesians were great sailors and some of their boats used resamble some of the one used by the Mochis in Peru. You know, we know so little of the people migration around the world !
I am from khumbu and I know lot of people from the pic. Chirstopher did a good job puting it together. I get a wonderful story in the pictures of child and I see every child rising in different directions.
Well this is obvious that we have a huge similarity between the people from Peru, and even the natives of America. I have been living in the US for a while, and I have been aksed if I was native more than 30 times. Even native has asked me twice if I was native.
I am impress with the simmilarity that exists with some of the people of Nepal with the Indigeneous people of Peru. It is remarkable simmilar ( I am talking about specially with children of the almond eyes and many of the adult people) I am intrigued with the simmlarity of the hat (Himalayan) and the Andes hat which is called "Chullo". I am wondering if there was ever a connection between the people of Peru and the Himalayan thousands of years ago ;-)
