Muslim Honor Killings? What is really going on?

This is a overdue message to the Muslim Community to remind all; about the complex bombardment of concepts that drag our spirits down. Listen to each other and gather for support. It is us who define our reality. Honor Killings is something to divert us from the greater task. This task is keeping focused on the good Islam has to offer. Inshallah, we gain the glory Allah has given us in this life.

You say that Islam has advocated for women's rights in saying that "they should be treated the best". You seem to assume that "the best" measures up to secular standards of equal rights. However, it seems to me that this "best" can be easily interpreted to mean "best for my family" and "best for my honor"--where is it explicitly said that "best" means "non-violence"?

I am missing something here....what does this have to do with the fact that women are treated like nothing more than property under the current islamist ideals where if a woman is raped or wants the freedom to marry someone of her own choice she is killed, or threatened with death by her own family?

I think domestic violence rates worldwide as well as the numbers that I have just cited allow me to rest this case. Muslim treat women very well, in every religion, from the genesis women are said to be not as strong and superior as men. That is misunderstood heavily. The only thing it means is that the man has all the responsibility. Women are treated very well, they keep the money they make, and if they divorce the husband has to ALWAYS supply the widow with money FOR LIFE.

I don't hate the people that practice a belief ... I hate the religion because it limits your way of looking at the world. I was a religius person and I'm so glad I foudn a way out of the god delusion.

Yep Islam respects women ... yet they can't drive a car nor dress like they want in islamic countrys.

Let me say just 1 thing ... Every religion has the same principles but with minor changes. I can say for sure that religion is the crowd control of the past.How else would you control milions of (stupid)people? School to teach the rules. Every human has to be afraid of something. In the days where we have laws and law enforcers to be afraid of ... there is no need to be afraid of god anymore.

don't have to be a Muslim or a Christian to do the right thing. I'm quite happy being an atheist and non violent. instead of going to church and learning crazy gibberish, i collect old clothing to send to Papua new guinea because they cant afford cloths, medicine and food.
