Sparky Lyle was a great pitcher and a good person as well.I met him once at a baseball card show he is a true ambassador to the game of baseball.The New York Yankees stole him from the Red Sox in the Danny Cater trade,that deal killed the Red Sox for the 1972,73,74,76 and 77 seasons if they hadkept Sparky they were sitting on a dynasty.

Wow, its been 30 years?? I remember watching this series on tv. Sparky, Goose, Catfish, Guidry were my favorites. Sparky was an awesome closer!
