  • Great Engine.. I am thinking of putting something like that in My 84 Trans Am. Did you modify the hood to fit the engine?

  • No mods to the hood, it was almost a perfect fit.

  • sweeeeet!!!!!!!!

  • they ruined the style of the camaro in the late 70's

  • Sweet job on the car man! Looks a lot like my 80 with a custom 509cid. Makes for a hell of a surprise when people get a look under the hood and expect to see a small block and an even bigger surprise when challenged a street drag. Good luck with it!

  • lot of ppl dont know if a small block comes out a big block will go back in pretty easy even a 4.3 u can hook up a 454 to its tranny

  • small block and big block is just an dold term. the new chevey z06 is a 427 which mainly would think is a big bug is actually a small. big block is just the outsdie dimesiinos of the engine or maybe the distance between bores. i forget. but most people have a big block for nostalgia look and feel.

  • Where did you get your headers?

  • a small block is a small cubic/in motor so it hits rpms a lot quicker and has a lot of mid range torq even with a rv cam. a big block has brutal torq through the entire rpm range. and it is a lot heaver motor so it might affect the cars handling. a small block is a lot lighter. so small blocks are good for moderate stuff and big blocks are almost good for any thing.

  • old school hotrodders love being different than the crowd. big block engines have character that small blocks will never achieve, i think their both great engines though...

  • what's better a big block or a small block anyway

  • beatuiful..

i am thinking of getting a 1980 camaro, i was wondering how hard is a big block swap???

i am a tuner guy, soo i dont know to much about american muscle.
