4300 is a GP40X only 25 been built. The other two are GP40M-3s. You can see the new ties are ready to replace the bad ones and there's allot of them.

  • 4301 is a standard GP40-2 fella. Nice video as usual though.

  • @Tcaauwe2002 My bad. lol

  • How come i never see any of the red locos! What is the difference between a regular GP-40-1,2 or3? Is there above average traffic or speeds? M chances of going to Alpena yet this summer dropped quite abit, but still could as summer winds down!

    Love the videos!

  • @MQT3001 The red ones hardly come up here its if you catch them or not. Some times there here a bunch of times than you don't see them for a couple mouths.

  • great video, do you know were the hoppers are loaded & there destination after there loaded ?

  • @bonehead1902 I'll be in alpena this upcoming week, and maybe witness the fixing of the terrible track! you must imagine, that route, to east tawas is only 3-4hrs with some 30-50mph running. but with 6-8hr running, that puts double the stress on those older engines, and burns way more fuel. those engines run their best in notch eight, and except for starting and Werth Rd hill, it probably never runs above notch 3
