I would like to add being a muslim our prophet (pbuh) has a saying about
making weak (controlling) the desire producing part and making strong the prefrontal cortex(reasoning ) part of the brain. He has a saying that if u have financial resources you should get married , if not then you should fast because fasting will make your desire producing part weak. I am still researching the fact that does fasting really weaks(which should according to my belief) that part and how does it do?.

@diamondkal - There is always hope for individuals. We live in a world where there is diversity in beliefs, and therapeutically as well. Our belief is that pornography is addictive. If someone is seeing a therapist that does not share their beliefs, it is their right as a client to switch if they desire. On another note, change must come from within and all people have the ability to find that drive to change.

your videos helped me. thank you. once i understood the fundamental process it became easier to think it thru. i think religion can also work as a therapy. i was irreligious and now i have become Muslim, and i feel so happy. i think pornography is worse than prostitution cause it gives us only the hunger and its available on our table. i still remember how i used to look at women when i was addicted, it is a reason of many social crimes, why govt not stopping it? BTW is this lecture only 2 part?

@SuperLmer - so true. Addictions take away your freedom because an addict is always needing the substance, until they can learn to manage the limbic region of the brain.
This specific series is only 2 parts. We have posted other and we are continuing to post more. We are glad they have been helpful to you.

Jesus said "As a man thinketh, so is he." He said it not me. I beleive this truth with all my heart. Change your thinking to the better things in life. Think and do things that are meant for the goodness of yourself. Live in the light. Addicition creates darkness. Jesus talks about this for any kind of addiction. Think of Him and you will be healed and free!!!! It's a process. The sooner you admit you are addicted the sooner you will be free from it. Look for help, you will recover!

@SuperLmer - This saying is so true because there is always the thought before the action.

@innergold1000 There isn't always thought. For the longest time I gave into any desires my mind told me to. Do that drug, tell that guy to fuck off, cheat on my gf. There was no right or wrong just what I wanted and no question as to whether or not I would even do it or not. Not until I was around 23 did I start truly examining my addictions and situations to better decide what to do.

@parsleysprigs - That is not uncommon at all. The Limbic part of the brain, over time, can hijack the Pre-Frontal to the point where behaviors become "addictive" in nature as you described.
