Although motor oil might work at stopping ants, I'm not so sure entire city's worth of people pouring motor oil into the ground is really the wisest of moves.

when i want to deny an area to ants, i use motor oil. a ring of oil around a post will prevent them from going up into mailboxes, birdfeeders, lights. this works with most ants - never had to try with CR ants yet. i don't know how practical filling long, 1/4" wide trenches with oil would be for protecting a structure though.

The reason you won't find Rasberry Ants in wikipedia is because they are named after the exterminator that discovered them in Houston, Tom Raspberry, in 2002. They are very real and eat fire ants, but mulitply faster. No over the counter poison kills them.

The rasberry ants are getting into my house. I have a fire ant problem in my yard and am working on taking care of that problem. I figure if I get rid of the fire ants the rasberry ants will go away (since rasberry ants eat fire ants).

absolutely not. They don't just eat fire ants, they eat just about anything they can. They'll be a much worse problem than fire ants if you let them be.
