Troops display to the world that LTTE is a cowardly outfit

Defence Secretary Gothabaya Rajapakse has observed that the war heroes had succeeded in displaying to the world that the LTTE terrorists are a cowardly terrorist outfit..
He said security officials of countries such as India and Israel are astonished over the victories achieved by the Sri Lankan troops against the terrorists. He was speaking at the Convocation of the Defence Service Command and Staff College of Batalanda in Sapugaskanda. The Government is dedicated to upgrading the professional foundation of officers of the Armed Forces and the Police. Accordingly, degrees were conferred this morning on 58 officers who successfully completed the PSC Course. The course is being conducted in affiliation to the Kelaniya University. The work is handled by Commanding Officer Major General N.A. Ranasinghe. 37 Army Officers, 12 Air Force Officers and a Police Officer received degrees from the Defence Secretary. Chief of Defence staff Air Chief Marshal Donald Perera, Army Commander Lt. General Sarath Fonseka, Air Force Commander Air Marshall Roshan Gunatillake, Navy Commander Vice Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda and Vice Chancellor of the Kelaniya University Prof. S.T.B. Amunugama were among those present.
