Good teachers do a few more things than those I refer to as "language coaches", but other people can also contribute to your language learning success. You need fish!

Hi Keith, Alexandre here. Very interesting – and thorough -- video once again. I just wanted to comment about corrections (13:30). I find that not all learners pick up on indirect corrections very well. Plus, if you say “oh, you slept well”, there's really no reply needed. I prefer to tell the student “I slept well”, encouraging them to start that part of the sentence again, integrating the new information right away. Then again, maybe I’m a pushy language coach ;) Cheers!

Glad we're able able to keep in touch after the TV interview interview in Toronto!
Good point about the correction strategy. I'm going to try that and see what happens. I just tend to do what I instinctively did with my kids when they were learning to talk.

Very good comments again Keith. Non-natives often do work better at the beginning, because they can explain the TL grammar from the point of view of a fellow foreigner.

In my many years as a teacher, I have found that what often happens is that I prepare my students for the native speakers (teachers or otherwise). At some point, they naturally sense the need to change. Ultimately my goal is to prepare students for interaction with native speakers in conversation classes or in spontateous communication on the street.

Another incredible video Keith! I recorded a very similar video myself, I will publish in a bit..I've been working as a language coach for more than 2 years now and you really hit the nail on the head! If you want to have a chat on skype one of these days give me a shout, I very much like connecting with like-minded people like you. Un abbraccio da Parigi! Luca

At the higher levels, my native-speaker employees are fantastic, especially for "collocations" (a good idea for a future video, eh?).
