camping on Anacapa June 23-24, 2007. Still trying to figure out the best settings for uploading to YouTube given the limitations of my software. Also, I apologize for the harsh wind/wave sounds during the 1st 30 seconds.

  • Glad I saw it, but wont do it again. Next time I'll just dive there. Im convinced the true beauty of this island is underwater.

  • I've been thinking about camping there recently. Sometime before summer though that way when I get there it doesn't look like a desert. I would be so pissed if that's all it was. Just dirt, dead weeds, seagulls and people singing all night.

  • Agreed. Its worth it to stay on the boat and wait for the next island. You can appreciate this island from a boat while on to a better one.

  • @1987Lakers That was so cold! LOL!!!!

  • bob marley is amazing, it's true.

  • What great memories this provided. My parents used to have our boat docked at Channel Islands Marina back in the mid 60's to early 70's. We lived in the San Fernando Valley and used to head out Friday night and spend all weekend mostly at Anacapa Island. Great video... thanks for posting.

  • Ah hah! All those wonderful little things NOT found on the website!

  • Anacapa is a sun bleached rock made entirely with bird shit.

SO glad I didn't bring kids with us, as the birds were very aggressive, dive bombing us repeatedly. Thank god it was cloudy that day, as there wasn't any shelter from the sun...nothing. I can honestly say once is enough. 30 minutes and you see everything on the island.

  • Great video, but the music is a little silly for a cold, deserted Pacific rock. Thanks for the video!

  • i went here for a fieldtrip
