That "I had myself surgically removed" was a line Peter used many times. So much of humor that wasn't slapstick or physical went over my head too.

RIP the man of thousand faces.

@goodbyeisthenewhello What difference does it make? Children don't get it anyways. I personally find that my memories of children's TV is full of holes because I didn't understand much of what the characters said.

Humor that is actually well-scripted, cultured, and intelligent. Something that no longer exists in children's entertainment. At least you could find it all the way up til the 90's...

Sorry, found poor old Peter kind of pitiful here ...
-
@mohinderbauer he reveals here and in interviews and in one of his last movies that he could never be himself that he never knew how to be himself
-
My God, he could be ANYONE! :)

Stunning. In the most absurd forum, Peter Sellers self confession to Kermit revealed Seller's most vulnerable aspect about his own persona. That only appearing through an avatar, could Seller ever reveal any of his own emotions.

*sigh* How come all the greats died with so much left to give? Sellers was AMAZING, despite any "madness" he may have had...made him that much more believable.
"There used to be a me...but I had it surgically removed!" Classic Sellers.
