Comments about my strengths as a Board Member, especially my financial background. Also some comments on my personal beliefs about guns, the shooting sports and the right to keep and bear the private arms of our choice, including concealed, open and contitutional carry. I note that these are my personal comments. I am solely responsible for them. I speak only for myself.
Agreed, but it is my sense that it may be a better play to note that this bill is aimed at silencing the Tea Party. I read NRA-ILA's notice about AB 144 on their website. The Sacramento Bee article link is also provided there. I also read Portantino's bill itself on California's legislative website. I note that last year a bill similar to this either died or got pulled. I'm certain NRA-ILA is watching the bill, and it is my sense that if it gets any traction, NRA-ILA will be all over it.

@shootingcpa This bill could also be played as a very racist bill in that it is similar to earlier legislation and ordinance stemming back to the civil war reconstruction period 1864 to 1877 and there after. As far as I know State Assembly member Anthony Portantino has introduced this bill, AB 144. We just don't see the NRA pro -active on this.

California AB 144 is clearly anti-gun. It is clearly an attack on any sort of open carry of firearms. It is also an attack against political free speech by cowardly and fearful politicians. As to what tactics to use to defeat this bill, that question is much more problematic. I'd start with basic grassroots activism. Mobilize fellow gunnies. Educate non-gunowners. Does this bill have co-sponsors? If so, (politely) put pressure on them. Grassroots activism is effective.
