@Doctoratkins Try Melodic Death Metal first, it`s what i did, In Flames in the 90`s is so king, there is Carcass` Heartwork album, Dark Tranquility(Skydancer is my fav)
Or you could try the first Death Metal band that existed, Chuck Schuldiner`s Death, it`s freaking great, may Chuck rest in peace :'(

@Doctoratkins Just look around till you find a band you like. Start with older death metal maybe. You could check up on my favorites list. Buncha old death metal and thrash stuff.
