A small 800 watt / 900 watt max 2 stroke generator from Harbor Freight tools. It was on sale for $79.00 + I had a 20% off coupon! I don't think you can beat it for the price. It's not the most quiet generator in the world but it's not too bad. I plan on using it for my pop up camper, to charge the battery if needed, power small appliances & to have just in case I need it, better to be safe than sorry.
For the price I would highly recommend this unit!
Does this generator come with a 12vDC battery charger? If so how many amps in the batter charger?

The voltage output is adjustable but the owners manual doesn't tell you that. There is a screw that you can turn that raises or lowers the voltage. Usually when new they run about 120v then after they break in and are running slightly faster they tend to run 130+ volts.
I adjusted mine back down after it broke in.

I had the same here in Italy. After 1 month I began to have few electric problems. After 3 month the sparks from the coil destroyed the cable of the plug , the coil itself and its support. I rebuild it myself from surplus shop. It worked another month and finally fuel supply system (2 stroke engine) shuts down everything. It a simply, cheap, and use and trash Chinese product. Good luck.

@dishtech43 How do you go about buying HF Returns.

@spyder000069 You are 100% right about the Honda. I bought a Honda 1000 and you can't hear anything except the purr of the exhaust. I picked my Honda 1000 up used for $400 and it only had 5 hours on it, even if you paid the $800-$900 for a new one it would be worth it as it's so quiet. The EU2000i and EU3000i are also awesome generators. But.... for under a $100 bucks the HF genny isn't bad for emergencies like you said. Just don't take it camping!!!

The Honda's are pricey but they have a warranty and you can get them repaired anywhere if there is a problem. The honeywell inverter generators are about half the price and get good reviews stating that they are only slightly louder than the honda's.

Also I ran my oscillioscope on the output of the generator and with a low wattage load it was putting out 150+ volts and the sine wave was so choppy and erratic. In order to clean up the sinewave I had to make sure there was at least a 100 watt bulb plugged into it. This loaded the generator and smoothed the power out. It still wasn't pretty but usable. The Honda's use inverters which means the engine doesn't have to run full/constant speed and the power is clean.
