My foster cat (she was this fat when I got her, 7 days prior to filming this!) has a big appetite. The other cat wanted some of that food as well. He has his own food though, so I don't let him bully the other cat into surrendering her food to him.

  • I feel sorry for the tabby cat, you gave it crappy watery food no wander it wants the other meal -

  • @teewoods Maybe you shouldn't feel sorry about him, since you don't know what happened before this. I gave him a bowl of his own food, which he finished. Then I gave him a bowl of tuna (the watery crappy food, as you called it) so he would leave the other cat's food alone. He is quite the bully and will push her away from her food and eat it

  • Haha! Well if the tabby didn't want tuna then he was just being a bully. Nice job feeding the appetite girl. I think maybe it's like with humans - if she had long periods of starvation earlier in life, then her metabolism slowed down, making her gain weight faster. This causes more blood sugar than usual to be converted into fat, eventually wearing out insulin production by the pancreas. Low insulin then causes sudden spikes & drops in blood sugar, inflating one's appetite beyond normal.
