"Butterflies In The Rain" is a typical novelty piano piece - "A Fox-trot Intermezzo" - from 1932, written by Sherman Myers (Montague Ewing). I'm playing it on mandolin in the written key of D, with a guitar backing. All taken from the 1932 sheet music but adapted slightly to follow parts of the orchestral versions which came out in the 1930s. The piece was very popular at the time and I've included some different versions of the sheet music - just for a change!

I like these old tunes, some of this tune reminds me of 'spread a little happiness as you go bye' and this is something you do well with your music.Thank you.Having visited your web site I enjoyed going through the fingerpicking the guitar guide and found it very helpful. Its not that i have not blindly gone through picking patterns before but following your progressive process I now understand how to fit a pattern to a song. Can I politely point out a small typo on the D7 on diagrams 33,34 and 35.
