¡¡¡¡¡¡¡CARGANDO PILAS!!!!!!!

Also, the old man in each scene represents Violetta's impending death.

I disagree with the bashers of the set and staging. It is simple, yet stark and empty. It shows her inner misery. Dressing the chorus in suits shows how alone she feels in the world and also how she sees Alfredo initially, as just another client in a sea of stuffed shirts. And for the record, Verdi wanted the cast to wear modern attire but the censorship people made them wear outfits from a hundred years earlier instead, so the situation wouldn't seem as realistic.

@leporelloaa Maybe she trying to sound like someone dying of consumption.

It would seem that whoever thought up this set has absolutely no idea what opera is all about. On the other hand one might surmise that the set came from a Salvation army discount sale because the opera company ran out of money to do it right

Nice voice. But I hate the set. Stripped down and ugly. Modern "artistic" opera settings are done only to flatter the ego of the designer. Traditional opera settings are more in keeping with the feel of the opera. And dressing the chorus women in suits. Are all of Violetta's guests supposed to be men? She's a cortesan, not a slut!

it is nice

Superb singing and acting by the three principals make it a great production, but I very much dislike the sets and costumes, which decidedly detract.
