There's that one adage that goes "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." But they didin't say nothin' about tinkerin' with it. Meet the Fender 2010 American Standard Precision Bass. It retains all that's good about P-Basses, with a few minor tweaks that even a rabid traditionalist might be tempted to call "improvements."

Those improvements include a new high-mass bridge and correspondingly low-mass Hipshot tuners. What hasn't changed is the classic, groove-inducing thump and punch of that single split-coil pickup. As Owen demonstrates, the 2010 American P-Bass isn't too flash an axe, but it certainly is classy. And did we mention the new, TSA-approved hardshell case it ships in?
