Getting There: Chapter 14 Part 1

Riley's POV

It's Friday night, and I'm about to make the biggest decision of my life. I'm heading to the Football game, rubbers in my purse. I know putting it like that doesn't make it sound extremely romantic, but I do leave in just over 2 weeks. Time isn't of the essence for me, and I have to make this count. I still couldn't believe Hayley had called Nick and told him about Cody, I hadn't spoken to her since that day. She didn't consider either of our feelings, and I'm pretty sure Nick ended up getting even more hurt. My phone bleeped, and it was a message from Cody:

'Game starts in 10 x.'

I texted back a quick reply, and joined my dad outside in the car. With him driving us to school, it would only take a couple minutes. The problem would be getting parked.

"Any plans for after the game?" dad asked, in an innocent manner. A little too innocent. HE KNEW!
"Just hanging with friends." I replied, glaring at him from the corner of my eye. "Do you?"
"The usual; Browns with the other parents. I won't be back until late, and I didn't want you stuck home alone." he explained.
"I'll be fine." I assured him.

When we arrived I ditched Dad, and went and sat with Lucy and Carrie.

"Hey." I smiled. "What did I miss?"
"Cody's looking for you." Lucy informed me. "Said you're his good luck charm and he can't go on without seeing you." she laughed.
"Awwww, that's so sweet." I cooed, standing to leave and find Cody. I swear I caught Carrie making gagging motions.

I spotted him below the bleachers, hanging with the rest of the team, awaiting the game to begin. When he spotted me, he smiled, big.

"Cody!" I called, waving.
"Hey Riles. I was looking for you."
"Lucy told me. Figured you'd need your good luck charm before your first game." I flirted, kissing him softly. Behind us, I heard a few of his team mates whistling. We ignored them. "Good luck." I smiled.
"Thanks, I'll see you after the game." he said, before running out onto the field.

The game seemed to pass slowly, maybe because I was waiting for the main event afterwards. Was I nervous? I pictured it many different times in my head. On the floor, on the sofa, in my bed, against the wall - I admit, the last one was rather adventurous. When the game came to a finish I was positively buzzing; and not just because we'd won 5-2.
"Congratulations!" I cheered, rushing towards Cody. He caught me in his arms and spun me around.
"It's all down to you." he smiled, kissing my lips. "I'll just go shower and change, then I'll meet you out here."

He disappeared into the locker room and Lucy came up behind me, grinning.

"You two seem to be going strong." she commented.
"Yeah." I sighed, happily.
"Are you joining us tonight?"
"Actually......we have our own plans." I said, blushing slightly.
"Riley! You're not." she laughed, pushing me playfully.
"Don't tell anyone." I whispered. "Cody has no idea yet." I laughed.
"Good luck." she chuckled, walking away to join the group.

I waited patiently for Cody to return, and when he did, he looked even more stunning. Freshly showered, hair slightly damp, and clothes just thrown on.

"Where is everybody?" he whispered into my ear.
"They went ahead without us. I kinda made other plans." I replied.
"And where do they lead us?" he asked.
"My house.” I said back, holding my breath to hear his reply.

All he did was take my hand in his, squeeze it, then take me to his car. I'm guessing my answer came as a shock to him. While we were driving - in silence - a song came on the radio and it immediately made me cringe.

'Hello beautiful, how's it going.
I hear it's wonderful, in California.
I've been missing you, it's true.'

I quickly shut it off and Cody glared at me.

"Is something wrong Riley?" he asked.
"Nothing, I'm just a little excited." I admitted. "Excited and nervous."
"For what?" he said, pulling up outside my house.
"Why don't I show you?" I asked, cheekily, taking his hand and guiding him into the house.

Ohh, Riley's gonna get freaky!
Lmao. There's another part to this chapter, but I'm suspecting many of you are returning to school tomorrow? I feel bad for you. I have a training day, haha. No school until Tuesday. I may upload the next part tomorrow, if I get....10 comments?
