A compilation of short standard 8 and super 8 cine (movie) film clips showing a wide variety of public transports taken on family holidays during the 1960's.
These were filmed by my parents who as copyright holders have given me persmission to uplift them to youtube.
Some clips are very short, some are longer. Most have been slowed down, which explains why sometimes people will seem to be walking slowly.
The entire film is silent / no sound has been dubbed.
Included in whats seen are...
*Berna/ACMV/SAAS Trolleybus No. 4 which dates from 1957 on the Vevey Montreux - Chillon - Villeneuve service heading for Villeneuve, Switzerland.
*Steam train at a level crossing, possibly near to Calais in France.
* Bristol Type 170 Freighter aircraft on the air car ferry service from Le Touquet in France to Southend-on-Sea in Essex
Cross channel air services served several British airports, including Lydd in Kent. For more information about the aircraft and the routes they worked on visit this page at Wikipedia - and follow further links from there.

*Car-carrying shuttle train between Brig (Switzerland) and Iselle di Trasquera (Italy) via the Simplon Tunnels Alpine pass.
The journey took about 20 minutes and travelling on open wagons meant that passengers had to stay within their vehicles.
Our motorhome had a bottle gas hob, fridge and internal light. Do you think we switched the gas supply to the fridge off when in the tunnel? Nope.
*What is probably a Peter Witt type tram in on route 23 in Milan, Italy. Route 23 still uses these trams today (2010!)
*Arriving at the docks (Calais, France) and taking the car ferry to Britain (Dover, England).
*Another journey - leaving Dover docks from a berth next to a Sealink car ferry.
*Trams in Frankfurt-am-main in (West) Germany.
*One of the street funiculars in Lisbon, Portugal.
*East Cliff funicular railway in Bournemouth, England.
the original Free Enterprise Townsend cross channel car ferry!! must be the only video from this time of it.
