It exists concerts like this still. Just because something isn't mainstream doesn't mean it is non existing.

That's the difference my friend...Sammy was an entertainer, they are very rare these days.

But don't forget that Sammy is also a great singer, not only an entertainer.

Yes. But it does not at all free them from the businessmen. Didn't McCartney (the irony) lose a lot in the ATV deal? Publishing is still a big thing today. You just need to google 'Sony Music' and you know what I'm talking about. Artists are, unfortunately, still exploited. Now also by YouTube.

Well, we sadly cannot ask Sammy Davis what his opinion is but I think McCartney is correct especially for those performers who love performing and find greater reward in that action than with money. Although I do agree that everyone should be rewarded for good efforts. But is should be the performers choice, not the bean counters or record executives.

It doesn't. There's still many people (mostly publishers) who fill their pockets off other people's work. It doesn't free them, sadly.

Paul McCartney said that the internet and especially youtube was a blessing to performers. Perhaps because it frees them from the record companies, the movie studios and television networks and bring them far closer to the viewers/listeners. I wonder if Sammy Davis, Jr. would agree? I suspect yes since he truly enjoys performing, IMHO.

He actually wasn't really happy about singing this song so he played around with the song. He wasn't drunk.
