I've never heard of Vegetable Soup. Where I remember seeing this, was waking up as a kid very VERY early on Saturday mornings, where I had fallen asleep the previous night to watching HSN (back then called the Home Shopping Club). Nothing but a half-hour slot dedicated to these freaky-as-hell segments.

The beginning of multiculturalism and sheeple mentality. It's no different today, but it was damn creepy, probably b/c it was foreshadowing the bleak future for us.

Too me it was not so creepy as it was amusing. i mostly got into the story plots. Looking at it now i can see the creepy factor, but cheesy at the same time.

I remember this as a kid early Saturday mornings and thought it was creepy as hell!! And now that I see it about 35 years later, nostalgic but still creepy as hell!!!

I barely remember Vegetable Soup as a young kid, I was probably 5 or 6 at the time. But what I do remember was being scared of this Outerscope segment because it was this group of young kids (freaky looking ventiloquist dummy/muppet hybrids!) lost in space in that rickety ship that looks like a tree house. I think this plays on a little kid's fear of abandonment and being lost in a strange place!
