What is the pre-born? Is abortion morally justifiable? Are the pre-born equal in value to born humans?

Stephanie Gray, Executive Director of the Canadian Centre for Bio-Ethical Reform, responds to these and other questions as she builds a scientific and philosophical case for the humanity and personhood of the pre-born.

  • 44:16 minutes later still pro choice.

  • 13:19. That isn't a moral dilemma at all. If the woman dies because of the pregnancy then you lose 2 lives.

  • i did not ask to be here. babies are cute but imagine that baby in 7o years with dementia crapping their pants while pushing a walker . not so cute. the world sucks and bringing a human into it is not kind. have a baby if u want and are ready but if not don't have it is my decision. i have two grown kids and if i had to do it over again i would not have children even if that meant i would have had to abort the first child. if only i had known and had any guidance.

  • it doesn't matter that they are human. i can say it is human and still believe that in early term this is a choice i want available to me. especially now that my two children are grown. if i knew then what i know now i would not have had children. they are cute when little but it is not worth it later. so it is not a topic of human status for me. so u will have to give me another reason why i would not want the choice to abort.

  • @rootsm3 Well, you've repeated yourself. You've given a conclusion, but what is your reasoning that got you there? If you don't have any reasoning then why draw the conclusion, if not simply out of an emotional response?

  • @cjla1987 Wow. I don't know how to touch this one, but you cannot compare cancer to abortion. 1) It's not a choice 2) The impact on your body and life are totally different 3) You don't see people up in arms about killing off cancer cells do you? Changing variables doesn't make my logic flawed. Come on.

  • @rootsm3 You stated that she should retire any opinion until she's been in the position of carrying an unwanted pregnancy. By your own reasoning, someone, in this case, a doctor, should not have an opinion to a cancerous person because the doctor does not have cancer. Same reasoning. Same variable. Your logic is flawed.

  • @regresseur How can you possibly make a judgement on such an intense issue unless you've lived thru it?

  • @rootsm3 Why?

  • I think you should retire any opinion you have on the matter until you've been in the position of carrying an unwanted pregnancy.
