Bugatti, Lamborghini, etc. all bragging about top speed with their V12's. Oldsmobile Aerotech ran 257mph on a closed course with only a 2 Liter Quad Four... A later version with 4 liter broke practically every endurance record known...

GM has already proven that it's decades ahead of anyone else in terms of engineering and technological might...

This is mass-production, there are some cowboys and Redecks running along the production line, looking to catch it early enough, before it disappears after the next corner.
