This is a video I put together for my project rifle nicknamed MosZilla. MosZilla started life as a Mosin Nagant M91/30 built in 1934 at the Izhevsk armory. It took many hours of research and work to get the rifle into what you see now. It will continue to be developed as I'm able to add more upgrades. Come visit out forum and blog at www,socamo.com

  • Well done. Im sure youve figured out by now that scope mount is the weak link though. With all that custom work, just go a step further and move the bolt handle back behind the striper clip slot. Weld up the striper slot, and mount you a rail across the the top of the receiver.

  • @Just1Spark

You are correct sir, but I changed the cheap knock off AR15 style mount out for a LaRue Tactical LaRue Tactical SPR-E139. Now the rifle will shoot dime size groups at 100 yards and that was off a bag. I haven't had a chance to shoot it off my vice yet but I can bet they'll be tighter than that. I'm currently working on MosZilla II and will probably do the bolt exactly as you stated. It's not that far along yet to show video. BUT it's coming soon.

  • @MosinNagantForum Its good to see the straight jacket on a mosin. I put a bull barrel on mine, and the straight jacket would probably give the same results, but save weight. ?

  • @Just1Spark

The StraightJacket Barrel system only added 2.80 pounds to the action, and that includes the muzzle brake. The added weight is much less than a UK59 barrel.

  • Hows it shoot-__-

  • @1991araaron

The original scope mount had issues, it was inducing to much cant into the scope and while the groups were good 1 inch at 100 yards it has been improved upon with a new LaRue Tactical scope mount. I'm working on another video to show results and will post it soon.

  • finely someone has customized one of this old warhorse's into a good looking rifle, great job. how well did it shoot.

  • Beautiful did you build the stock from scratch?

  • great job!

  • @MosinNagantForum +1 Good to know. I guess there is pro's and cons to anything. With the MGB you get new rifling and chrome lined bore. With the Straight jacket, you get weight savings, and the benefits that a straight jacket impart.

  • its not very often yoi see a mossin with this quality of work. Looks amazinf

  • lmao!

I love that you used a song from Quake II on this video
