Abandoned by his parents at a local hospital in Peru, Godo lived there for over a year afflicted by Noma, an infectious gangrenous process which had eaten away part of his cheek. On Tuesday, December 10, 1985, Godo finally left the hospital for San Francisco, where he embarked on an Interplast-sponsored journey to receive the operation that forever changed his life.
Interplast thanks KRON TV for covering his story back in 1986.
