LES PAYNE* PETER WEST* CRISPIN PAYNE*
Les Payne was born on the Isle of Wight but moved away in the sixties.  His long career in rock music has resembled a real life version of 'Crocodile Shoes', as he has battled the odds for over thirty years to make his mark in British music.  Les lives in Marlow Bottom in Bucks, and a Harp Beat Rock Plaque was presented to him at the Pegasus Public House to mark his 5100th gig.
With record sales of over 3000 in one week alone simultaneously Radio 1 Record of the Week and album of the week on Capital Radio, he has now played more than 6000 gigs, supported bands such as Genesis, Mott the Hoople and Leo Sayer and recieved a Harp Beat Rock Plaque for services to music.
David Bowie even wrote a song for him.
Les Payne is a true musical survivor.
