  • @larisen969 agreed, and he really sounds great this way...

  • What happened to Niall? This sounds more like trad than trazz to me. Is someone pointing a gun at him? "Two lines of trazz and you are done..:" 2.03 ops....

  • @mickfolan You might look also at Fluteloophost and Nina Pelov. Be careful with the lip formation, direction and speed of airstream ...try blowing different octaves ...look for Robert Dick on harmonics ....a few months on this work will pay good dividends!!

You will then be bildin the techniques to effect better expression. Tom

  • @Lisnageeragh Following your advice I have done some research and will now try turning the embuchre further away and hopefully get more consistent results. Thanks for the advice.

    Mick

  • @mickfolan I might add that you could look at some of the advice of James Galway and a few others on utube about embuchure / blowing . This could save you a lot of time going down dead ends ...and also save a lot of breath!!

  • @mickfolan In that event you might try a few instruments you come accross among your friends ...keeping it simple will keep down the cost but have consequences for the sounds you will produce and the range of music you will play.

  • @Lisnageeragh Yeah I'd say you're right. My ideal flute would be something with a bit of volume thats easily filled and has a nice bark out of the bottom "D". I dont need keys or anything fancy.

  • @mickfolan It might not be that old ...many modern traditional manufacturers would make something similar ...but expect to pay a bit. One of the things to note is the rod/ axel mechanism on the footjoint which can be important dependig on your requirements.

  • There's some whack out of that flute, sounds lovely. Wondering is it old, where would I get one?????????
