Corey Hunter --- Judgement [Dream Pop / Shoegaze / Post-Rock]

Hello everybody. It's been a while since I've posted an actual song, but hopefully the wait has been worth it. I've been writing this track for a couple of weeks now and finally did a bit of a rough mix today in Reaper. There's still a long way to go on this one but I'm pretty happy with where it's at. If you're wondering who is doing the vocals, it's yours truly :D

I'm really hearing my Cocteau Twins & Fields of the Nephilim influences here - two of my all time favorite artists. As for the title of the track, it came about after I drew the Judgment card a couple of weeks ago. I interpreted this occurence as a call to get creative and resurrect my musical spirit once more!

Now that I have my Morpheus pedal, I'm able to emulate a bass guitar, which is very cool. I basically just plugged my SG into the Tone Port through the Morpheus pedal and used the Sub Dub patch that came with my bass expansion pack.

When are you going to put out a Cd Corey?

@reg2001 I'm hoping to begin recording this year. I'm embarrassed to confess I have limited knowledge of how to do this. I've always paid more attention to playing than the technical aspects such as recording. Would you happen to have any advice on where to start? Books, tutorials etc. etc.?

@MrDevinPurdy Cool, thank you. I've also heard that Mastering Audio by Robert A. Katz is a good book. It's a little on the expensive side though.

Definitely pick up a copy of "Mixing Secrets for the Small Studio" by Mike Senior.

Sony Acid Music and your Tone port would be a great start. Sony has great drum loops also.
