the horses gave their all on the track.ran like the wind and many got career ending injuries.they deserve a little more respect.but,i am not a trainer,so my opinion is not expert

You did a nice job on the video, but these horses look down right miserable-I feel ecspecially bad for Dynaformer.
-
wow im amazed they let you get that close to Dynaformers's stall. From what i've read/heard he's downright nasty.I've been around horses almost 20 years and even I'd be afraid to get that close to him based on the reputation he seems to have
-
neither of these stallions look like "happy" horses to me.
-
is either the horse or the handler, so yes yank that chain as hard as u can! horses deserve respect but the handler deserve to be safer! and i been working and training horses for 18 years!
-
dynaformer isnt mean, he is territorial. im not impressed with how the handlers yank on the chains. maybe they forget that the horses deserve respect and pampering after all they have given us.

Probably the most friendly farm to visitors out there - horse or not. They speak to the small time breeder like they do the million dollar breeder. Sandy Hatfield (stud manager) knows her stuff and Ive been around there many times and get the same welcome whether I'm bringing friends just to look or considering breeding one of my mares. A truly world class operation with some of the best. Nicely done.

You did a wonderful job on this video. it has alot of heart. We've lost alot of thoroughbreds recently to age. having and posting this video is priceless.

Katie, the tours are FREE! We went on the last day, for the last tour before the breeding season started. We were lucky to have the breeding manager give us the tour instead of a regular tour kid! It was wonderful, I hope you get to go!!!

What a great post! I moved to Lexington, 4 years ago, after dreaming of working at a horse farm. My wish came true, but I have to say, I cherish the memories of being a tourist. I've met Smarty (amazing how small he is in real life!) and 7 other Derby winners (even kissed a few!) I also had the privilege of naming a foal sired by Dynaformer, out of one of our farm's mares. I didn't get to meet him, but they said Dynaformer loves the "ladies" and is kinda the "dumb jock" type. HAHA!

I'm envious! I run a small horse farm, after my normal day job... I would love to be able to do it full time! Thank you for the compliment!

Thank you, I loved doing it! The whole trip was a lot of fun! We hopped on very early morning saturday flight, picked up the truck, cruised out to TC and then drove back to Charlotte, NC... It was a long day, but it was well worth it!
