http://www.maxwelldrums.com/ Jeff "Tain" Watts, Lewis Nash and Matt Wilson came to the store to be interviewed for the DOWNBEAT November 2009 cover article on drummer band leaders. We set up Elvin Jones' 1970's Camco's, Kenny Clarke's 1960's Premiers and Joe Morello's 1960's Brubeck era Ludwigs and let them go at it. When was the last time you saw all these guys playing in the same room, let alone on these historical drum sets?! I mean seriously!

  • I love all three players, but in this video it seems like Lewis is setting the pace, Tain is embellishing, and Matt is basically keeping time. Wonderful energy going. They should do an album together. Thanks.

  • THISIS MAXWELL<S , IVE BEEN THERE !!!

  • this is insane!

  • It's kinda crazy how Matt Wilson is playing Joe Morello's kit and they're similar players, Tain is playing Elvin's kit that's a logical progression, and Nash is playing Klook's kit similar players as well. That's a trip.

It's great how at the end the photographer tells they're done and they just keep on going. That's beautiful.

  • I wish they would trade!

  • it sounds like a moving train that makes beautiful melodies!
